Well behaved dogs are very welcome guests at Hawthorn Farm! We hope they enjoy their holiday at the farm as much as their human companions, however, please respect the other guests and the cottages by following just a few rules:

  • Don’t leave your dog unattended in the cottage at any time (we can recommend a local dog-sitter)
  • Please don’t allow your dog onto the furniture or beds
  • Clear up after your dog immediately and tie securely in a bag before placing in the specially labelled dog waste bin
  • Keep your dog on a lead when in the farm gardens/grounds
  • Keep your dog under control when in or around farm animals or crops.

There are some lovely walks straight out of the farm gate - just turn left down Corner Drove and you can let your dog off the lead to explore the orchards and surrounding countryside. Explore Kent has designed a number of excellent dog friendly walks - they're circular routes offering a variety of distances, inclines and terrain for you to enjoy with your dog. And if you'd like to go out for a few hours without your pet, we can put you in touch with one of our friendly local pet sitters.

You'll find a doggy basket in each of the pet-friendly cottages, which includes dog treats and poo bags, as well as the following items to borrow/use while you're here:
  • Dog bowl
  • Spare pet blanket
  • A few toys
  • A disinfectant spray in case of accidents
  • A pet hair removing brush
  • A pet wash bag in case you need to use the washing machine
  • 2 temporary dog tags with our phone number, in case your dogs go walkabout!
