Vacating Your Cottage
Tina Hawthorn-Farm
Last Update 3 months ago

Please vacate the cottage by 10am at the latest on the day of departure, unless you have made a prior arrangement with us.
During the quieter months, we can sometimes be more flexible about timings. There will be a small charge of £15 (payable in advance) for check-outs 1-2 hours later than 10am. If you would like to make the most of your time at Hawthorn Farm and extend your stay until 6pm on your day of your departure, then we may be able to arrange it, depending on the timing of the next booking. There is a flat fee of £45 per cottage for extended stays, ideally arranged with us at the time of booking.
When you're preparing to leave, please use the following checklist to help our housekeeping team get the cottage ready in time for the next guests:
- Leave the cottage clean and tidy. No need for a deep clean, but please wipe down/vacuum any obvious spills, load dishwasher and put back anything you’ve borrowed or moved.
- Remove all food and personal items from the fridge/kitchen and from the bathroom/bedrooms
- Empty the outdoor ashtray (if used) - preferably into a separate sealed bag before putting into the bin
- Take all rubbish or waste for recycling to the wheelie bins by the stables
- Put any used bathmats or towels that we have provided in a pile in the bathroom. Leave un-used towels in one of the bedrooms
- Note/report any breakages or damages so we know what needs to be replaced or fixed
- Open the windows and leave on the latch or locked open a crack (weather permitting)
- Check you’ve packed/taken all your personal items
- Leave the cottage key on the table and if possible, lock the door behind you.
